Went to the zoo with two friends from Tuscaloosa and their girls-Allison (cousin), Klara, Savannah and Madeline
The petting zoo was her favorite. She wanted to grab all the goats ears.
"Come here little goat, I wanna squeeze that ear!"
I couldn't get this from the front but she was so excited when the goat stuck his head out. He started to lick her tray (which had french fries on it just moments earlier)!
We had a great time at the zoo. It was spring break here so it was pretty crowded. I think Madeline's still a little young to appreciate looking at the animals. She mostly liked to watch all the people that were walking around. I was a little underwhelmed by it though. Being that I have only been to the Cincinnati zoo it was my only basis for comparison. Cincy zoo is always in the top 5 in the country (I know, I make everything sound better in Cincinnati-some things are though!). Man, she was pooped after it! We couldn't pull out of the parking lot before she fell asleep; she didn't wake up when I took her out of the car either (which is rare), and then slept for an additional 2 1/2 hours. I say this like its a big deal because she had already taken a morning nap too.
What do you think of the new blog template? I'm so glad my friend Rachel found this because I was getting so tired of the limited choices that blogger offered. I lost all my links to friends blogs so I will update that soon.

Some other Pictures Recently
I bought a set of plastic golf clubs and Madeline absolutely loves them! Though I can't tell if she really likes them more than Lance. Best $5 I've spent lately.
Concentrating very hard. Look out Tiger and Michelle-LPGA here I come!
She wanted to crawl across this but got both legs stuck. About 10 seconds after I took the picture she started howling.
Stuck in a sheet. Mommy again rescued her from a perilous situation.
I keep forgetting to blog that Madeline is walking now. About two weeks ago she finally took off on her own. She still crawls some, I would say its about 2/3 walking to 1/3 crawling. She's still getting steady on her feet, but I see improvements in getting on and off curbs and going over thresholds without falling all the time. My friend Becky said she's still doing the "Frankenstein Walk" where they hold their arms out before them to balance and their legs look a little stiff too. Its pretty cute though!
Rest of Cincy Trip
Final result-13 inches! And the sun came out right after it finished, so most of the snow was melted by the time we left Monday. Not great for a lot of people due to the flooding it caused.
I forgot how crazy the snow can fall and pile up on things.
About to go down with Uncle Garry. We went sledding at the church yard that is at the entrance of our neighborhood. It felt so strange to be sledding at the same hill with my daughter 22 years later than the first time I went down it! On a side note, not as fun/dangerous either due to the fact that they had to re-route the creek at the end of the hill in order to change the intersection. If you went fast enough, you would end up in the creek occasionally.
I don't want to go down alone! (which of course she did not) Thankfully my aunt had given us some old clothes of her boys which had this snow suit in it, otherwise we would not have been able to go since we don't own any heavy snow clothes. I had to barrow some boots from my mom (which were white and furry-I should have taken a picture in them). I definitely looked very "Uncle Eddie-Christmas Vacation" with my jeans tucked into them while shoveling the snow!
I want to get down and play! This is one of Madeline's new faces. She will suck in really hard when she makes it too. Its pretty funny...
Pushing Bella. My mom's BFF Judy's granddaughter. They are exactly 5 months apart and the grandmas have been dying to get them together.
Mom and Dad with Madeline before we drove to Louisville to catch our flight.
So I didn't get to see all the people I wanted to/had plans with due to the snow. Sorry to those I missed. Lance loves snow and was so bummed to have missed all the fun things we did. On the plus side he had beautiful weather in Hartford. Madeline had a great time at Mimi and Pooh's house. She spent countless amounts of time climbing the stairs and playing the piano. Not too interested in the snow though. Maybe next year...

I Came to Cincinnati for This?

Garry's girlfriend Sarah. Garry had already shoveled the drive 3 times at this point during the day. Its much easier to shovel in small amounts.

Lance had to go to Hartford, Connecticut, for a seminar so Madeline and I flew up to Cincy to hang out with my family. We arrived yesterday just in time for 6 inches of snow! It started to snow this morning at 7 a.m. and did not stop until 5 p.m. Its supposed to start again later this evening and snow 3-6 more inches!! INSANE! Its not exactly her favorite thing at this age either. We've been stuck inside all day, blah!!!
