3 Months Old

Madeline is now 3 months old. Time does fly! Her legs are getting really strong and she can hold herself up for a few seconds (see above picture). Lance also put together a video of it for you all. Here is the link. (You all might see other links to other videos but they are not ours.) We don't usually have a naked baby but she just had a bath and I was about to put on her PJ's.

Lance also ran a 15K race this weekend (9.3 miles) here in B'ham called the Statue to Statue Race which they have recently renamed after a co-worker and running buddy of Lance's named Ellis Porch. He was an avid runner and usually won this race WHILE pushing his son. He was running a half marathon in Seaside, Florida about a month ago when he collapsed. He passed away a week later. He was 30 years old and left a wife and 2 year old son behind. Please keep his family in your prayers.

My mom and dad are coming this weekend to visit, which we are looking forward to. This will be the first time in 5 visits that my dad and Lance have no home or car improvements on the weekend agenda! Just golf!

Well, we got to see lots of friends these past weeks. We went to a shower for our friend Deborah as you can see from the pictures which was a lot of fun to get together and see my friends who have had babies recently. Madeline giggled for the first time last night when I was changing her and singing a Britney Spears song (which many of you know my singing talents and great taste in music can cause much laughter). Just want to clear up that I am not a "Britney Fan;" she just has some songs you cannot get out of your head! Maddie also loves to watch the computer screen and the television, much to our chagrin. She smiles and talks all the time now which is exciting for us. We sometimes think she is a little on the moody side because she can be smiling one second and then a second later start crying!

Long Week

Sorry no post on Monday. I will try to get back on schedule next week. Maddie is just growing like crazy. I've noticed that she tends to put on some weight around her belly and then about a week later it disappears due to the fact that she has gotten taller/longer. She loves to stiffen her legs and hold herself up for a few seconds. She is drooling a lot and I can see some white underneath her gums where her teeth with come in. The other morning Lance was home. He was talking to her and she was talking right back. She kept getting louder as if Daddy was not listening to her enough. She is definitely a morning person. Very talkative and active first thing. I have been bad about letting her nap in her swing or in the den with me. Today we are trying our crib for our nap. So far so good. I'll post Easter pictures on Monday!
