The Schloemers Invade Hoover

Not sure what Mom did, but she had Madeline in stitches! One of those times you wish you had the video camera ready to catch the moment!


My mom, dad, brother Garry, and his girlfriend Sarah came down last weekend for the baptism. We had a great time! Garry had surgery on his foot recently so we couldn't do a lot of activities, but we did hit the pool for the first time with Maddie. She loved it. Having 6 adults and a baby in our little condo made Lance and I desperately wishing we had a house with a yard to entertain. We were missing my sister this weekend. Tonya lives in Denver and unfortunately was traveling for work so she couldn't join us. Though we have all seen each other at different times, its actually been over a year and a half since we all have been in the same room together! Really hard to believe. Hopefully Christmas this year we'll all be together in Colorado! Lance, Maddie and I are headed to see Tonya on the 23rd in Denver. Then 4 days after we return we head to Cincy for the 4th of July. My posting might be a little sporadic over the next couple of weeks, but I'll do my best. I am adding a link for Snap fish photos if you want to see more of the last month.

Madeline's Baptism

"May the Lord keep you and bless you, Madeline"

Madeline was baptized into our Covenant family this Sunday. Without going into too much detail, we believe that God has promised to be our God and the God of our children forever. We baptize as a sign of this promise. Madeline's salvation will always depend upon her placing her faith alone in Christ Jesus.

We had a good crowd of family and friends with us to celebrate and then to Jim N Nick's for lunch. She did so beautifully! I was really worried she was going to freak out because I had cut short her morning nap and then she was just about to doze off again when it was time to go up, but she went to our pastor with ease. She was a cool cucumber the whole time. My favorite part is that at our church after a baptism we sing "Jesus Loves Me," but we change the pronoun to "You." So the whole congregation was singing to our daughter about how much Jesus loves her. Very sweet moment for us.
